The Kansas City Chiefs roster moves are in and the 53-man roster is set -- for now. Tony Moeaki and Ricky Henry have been waived / injured, which means they will hit waivers and if unclaimed they will revert to the Chiefs IR list. The Chiefs cut 20 other players, totaling 22 roster moves on Saturday evening.
Among the notable moves by the Chiefs include the release of Moeaki, a 2010 third round pick. Injuries were a factor as he fractured his shoulder last week and was expected to miss some time. Tysyn Hartman, safety out of Kansas State, was also released along with Marcus Dixon -- both players I had on my Chiefs 53-man roster prediction. At running back the Chiefs released Shaun Draughn, which gave a roster spot to Cyrus Gray. TE Demetrius Harris, the former basketball player, did not make the list either.
See the Chiefs first 53-man roster right here. And the Chiefs updated depth chart.
The cuts are below:
TE Tony Moeaki (waived / injured)
G Ricky Henry (waived / injured)
DE Austen Lane
Here are the 15 Chiefs players who were cut at last Tuesday's deadline to go from 90 to 75 players: WR Jamar Newsome, CB Vince Agnew, QB Ricky Stanzi, DE Miguel Chavis, WR Terrance Copper, OL Ryan Durand, OL Hutch Eckerson, DB Otha Foster III, OL AJ Hawkins, DE Rob Lohr, CB Kamaal McIlwain, RB Jordan Roberts, WR Tyler Shoemaker, DB Neiko Thorpe and FB Braden Wilson.
