Kansas City Chiefs roster bubble players and locks: Who's in, who's out?

The Kansas City Chiefs will be cutting their roster from 90 to 75 players on Tuesday, August 27. Four days later on August 31 they will be cutting the roster down to 53 players. Which Chiefs players are a lock to make the 53-man roster? And how many more will probably make it? From my calculations, there are 25 locks to make the roster, and another 15 players who will probably make it. Read on for my list and let's get the debates going in the comments.

Locks to make the roster (25)

QB: Alex Smith, Chase Daniel

RB: Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis

WR: Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery, Dexter McCluster

OL: Branden Albert, Jon Asamoah, Eric Fisher

TE: Anthony Fasano, Travis Kelce

DE: Tyson Jackson, Mike DeVito

NT: Dontari Poe

LB: Derrick Johnson, Nico Johnson, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston

CB: Brandon Flowers, Sean Smith, Dunta Robinson

S: Eric Berry

ST: Dustin Colquitt, Ryan Succop

That's 25 locks that I count. You could make good arguments that a few other players should be locks but I'll play it on the safe side and stick with this list. I feel really good that this list of players will be making the final 53-man roster. There are 90 players on the Chiefs roster right now. If 25 are locks, that means there are 65 players battling for 28 spots right now.

Not locks but will probably make it (15)

QB: Tyler Bray

WR: AJ Jenkins

OL: Donald Stephenson, Jeff Allen, Rodney Hudson, Eric Kush, Geoff Schwartz

TE: Tony Moeaki

DE: Allen Bailey

LB: Akeem Jordan, Frank Zombo, Edgar Jones

S: Kendrick Lewis, Husain Abdullah, Sanders Commings

That's another 15 players that I think will probably make the roster. That brings us up to 40 players that I think will more than likely make the Chiefs 53-man roster. If this is the case, that would mean there are 50 players battling for 13 roster spots. And even with this list, you could argue there are a couple more who should be on it.
