Jamaal Charles is back (again), Donald Stephenson is not and more Chiefs injury updates

The Kansas City Chiefs got back to practice on Tuesday after an off day on Monday. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid updated a few injury notes, including Jamaal Charles (who is back).

For the second consecutive practice, Jamaal Charles participated. The KC Chiefs practiced in pads on Tuesday and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said it would be more like a regular Wednesday practice in the regular season. The Chiefs play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third preseason game on Saturday.

Reid updated a few injuries, including Jamaal Charles who was scheduled to practice on Tuesday. And according to the KC Star's Randy Covitz, Charles looked fine.

More injury updates...

Donald Stephenson has an AC sprain, which is a shoulder sprain, basically. "He's getting better," Reid said. "Not as bad as we initially thought." So that's good news, I suppose. Also with the AC sprain is Dunta Robinson. He too is "getting better", Reid said, and considered day-to-day. Neither player practiced on Tuesday.

Also missing practice on Tuesday was rookie tight end Travis Kelce who has a bone bruise on his knee. "We're just letting that settle down," Reid said. That didn't sound too serious but it's also two missed practices in the four days following the game. Something to keep an eye on.

There are a couple cases of illness on the team. Safety Kendrick Lewis did not practice due to the flu and defensive end Mike DeVito was out with an illness. I would guess neither of those are anything serious.

And finally Sanders Commings, rookie safety, did not practice. He continues to recover from his broken collarbone suffered in July. If 6-8 weeks on his recovery is accurate, he may not be ready for the season.
