Greetings to our Niners Nation friends once again.
So far this week, the Arrowhead Pride and Niners Nation communities have teamed up for the following posts: 1.) What concerns you about the Chiefs offense? 2.) Which 49ers player would Chiefs fans take? 3.) Which Chiefs player would 49ers fans take?
And now for today's question:
Rank the 49ers-turned-Chiefs QBs: Joe Montana, Steve Deberg, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Alex Smith. Go!
We turn to Fooch, the man in charge at Niners Nation, for his answer:
Fooch: I'd go Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Steve DeBerg, Elvis Grbac. In terms of predicting Alex Smith's potential success in KC, I think odds are he is number two on this list, but I think he has a very reasonable chance to become the best Chiefs QB among ex-49ers in terms of regular season numbers. Of course, Montana took the Chiefs to back-to-back playoffs, including the AFC title game one season, so unless Alex can get the Chiefs into the playoffs regularly, and find some postseason success, we'll have to wait on that.
For me, I'll go: Joe Montana, Alex Smith, Steve DeBerg, Elvis Grbac and Steve Bono. I am banking on Alex Smith winning at least one playoff game during his time in Kansas City, which would put him ahead of Grbac and Bono who were unable to do that. DeBerg did do that. So maybe No. 2 is a little high but whatever it's August.
The last Chiefs quarterback to win a playoff game: Joe Montana.
Sigh....
Rank the former-49ers-turned-Chiefs QBs!
