On Tuesday the Kansas City Chiefs Week 1 opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, signed a former Chief in Andy Studebaker. On Wednesday, the Chiefs signed a former Jaguar in cornerback Kennard Cox. To make room for the new player, the KC Chiefs cut linebacker Chad Kilgore.
#Chiefs release LB Chad Kilgore of NW Missouri State and sign CB Kennard Cox

Cox, who was a 2008 seventh round pick by the Buffalo Bills, does have a Chiefs connection. He was signed to Green Bay's practice squad in 2008 at a time when current Chiefs GM John Dorsey was in the Packers front office. Along with the Bills, Jaguars and Packers, Cox also has experience with the Seattle Seahawks.
Fun fact: While a Seahawk, Cox once blocked a Chiefs punt.
Kilgore is a local product, having played at Northwest Missouri State University. I'm a little surprised that a linebacker was cut and not a cornerback (and we can all think of a certain cornerback who struggled last Friday).
