More top 10 Kansas City Chiefs player lists

ESPN's list of the day comes in the AFC West where Bill Williamson has ranked the top 40 players in the division. Four of the top five players are Denver Broncos, which we suspected would happen in a ranking like this.

However ... nine of the top 18 are KC Chiefs players. That speaks to the (perceived) level of talent on the team.

In the table below I plucked out the order of the Chiefs players from ESPN's list and compared them to our own Matt Verderame's list, which went up a week ago.

DJ and Flowers are the two names that jump out at me on ESPN's list. DJ, especially, is one of the best players at this position. I thought he should be higher. Same with Flowers who seems to be underrated year after year.

The most important player on this list is Alex Smith. If he finishes the season as one of the best Chiefs players, we know KC will be competing for the playoffs, which is what I really care about.
