First batch of KC Chiefs players arrive at training camp on Monday

The KC Chiefs rookies and QBs will be reporting to camp on Monday, July 22, three days ahead of everyone else. Find the rest of this week's Chiefs training camp schedule here.

The first 2013 Kansas City Chiefs training camp practice open to the public will be on Friday, July 26, one day after the veterans report to St. Joe. However, the KC Chiefs quarterbacks and rookies will be arriving even earlier.

On Monday afternoon Andy Reid and the Chiefs rookies and quarterbacks will report to training camp. Reid is expected to talk to the media sometime upon his arrival on Monday afternoon as well as some Chiefs players. I'm hoping we get a list of all these new guys arriving as well.

On Tuesday and Wednesday there will be morning practices with the rookies and quarterbacks. I'm not sure exactly what those practices will entail but the Chiefs do have quite a few first-year players available, along with four quarterbacks. Both the players and Reid will speak to the media during this time but these two practices are not open to the public. All open-to-the-public practices begin on Friday.

On Thursday the veterans report to training camp. There will be the usual throng of local media snapping some pictures and video. The players will be arriving at the picture above, which is Blum Union. They'll be staying in the dorms which are just across the parking lot.

Speaking of Blum Union, I made the drive to St. Joe earlier today for a quick look-see with Mrs. Arrowhead Pride. That picture was taken with my old Android phone. In the last few hours I just upgraded to an iPhone. Hoping this phone switch doesn't disrupt my world-renowned photography skills. More pictures to come on Monday.

Friday is the first real day anyone cares about. It's the first full practice. Although there are rules about when you can start wearing pads and what you can do, this is a training camp practice. Friday's practice is at 3:30 p.m., which is the only non-8:15 a.m. start of the entire camp.

That's your schedule this week. Camp week is almost here.
