Chiefs undrafted free agent tryout now visiting the Bengals

Mario Benavides was an undrafted free agent who planned to work out for the Chiefs. It appears that may no longer be the case.

Jamie Rhodes-US PRESSWIRE

Amazingly, undrafted free agent Mario Benavides could be in two places at once this weekend. Shortly after the 2013 NFL Draft where Benavides, former Louisville center, went undrafted, it was reported that he was joining the Kansas City Chiefs. From April 28:

There are two types of undrafted players that could join your team -- those that have a contract and those that are on a tryout basis. Benavides was on a tryout basis, which means he has no official obligation to the Chiefs. The Chiefs rookie minicamp is May 10-12 at Arrowhead, which is presumably the time and place he would be expected to report to the Chiefs for a tryout.

However...

The Cincinnati Bengals just announced they will have nine tryout players for their rookie minicamp. Among those is ... Mario Benavides. The dates are May 10-12, the same as the Chiefs rookie minicamp.

So Benavides is trying out for Cincy AND KC? In the same weekend? This will answer the age old question of whether you can be in two places at once.

By the way, check out these interesting tweets from Benavides after the draft:

We'll try to come up with a complete list of the tryout players before this weekend. Wish us luck.
