The Kansas City Chiefs latest signing is the highest draft pick yet to ink a deal. The KC Chiefs confirmed on Monday afternoon (or was it morning?) that they have signed running back Knile Davis out of Arkansas. As a third round pick, Davis is the highest drafted Chief to sign a deal ... so far.

More will be coming soon. The rookie wage scale makes the signing process so much easier. Remember when we would be waiting until June and July for these mid and late round draft picks to sign? Forget about the first round pick signing before the last week of July. The new way, with these picks signing within weeks of the draft, makes the whole process so much easier.
Davis may end up having a role on the 2013 Chiefs. The backup running back position, behind starter Jamaal Charles, appears to be up for grabs. Davis will be competing with Shaun Draughn and Cyrus Gray playing time behind Charles.
