The Chiefs are not scheduled to play in any of the nationally televised preseason games, according to the schedule released by the league.

There are Chiefs connections all over the place with these games.

In New Orleans, you'll have Chase Daniel meeting the Saints again. Against San Francisco it will be the Alex Smith game. You knew the league would love to do something like this, and the Chiefs and 49ers don't meet in the regular season this year so this was the only way. Playing the Steelers is always fun, and of course the Chiefs end up with Green Bay as they have the past few years. That will be Chiefs GM John Dorsey facing his former team.

Not a bad schedule, huh?

Those are four of the NFL's best teams so if preseason competition means anything (it doesn't) then this could help the Chiefs prepare (it won't). Either way, it'll be cool seeing the 49ers and Packers come to Arrowhead. The Broncos and Chargers are also playing the 49ers so we can see where the Chiefs stack up ... for one quarter.

Looks like there is no Governor's Cup this year, which is disappointing. Shall we just claim it anyway? Yes, I think so.

Here are the Chiefs 2013 regular season opponents:

Home: Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants

Away: Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills

And a few reactions to the preseason schedule...
