NFL Draft results: Welcome 8 new Kansas City Chiefs players

The Kansas City Chiefs 2013 NFL Draft is now complete (assuming they don't trade future picks to get back into the 7th round). Meet all eight of the new KC Chiefs players.

USA TODAY Sports

From Eric Fisher to Mike Catapano, the KC Chiefs 2013 NFL Draft class is in the fold. The Chiefs had the No. 1 overall pick and eight total picks in the 2013 NFL Draft. They did not trade any of them and made eight selections bringing eight new Chiefs to Kansas City.

1st round

In the first round, the Chiefs selected offensive tackle Eric Fisher who should step right in and play either on the left or right side of the line depending on the future of Branden Albert (who did not get traded, by the way).

2nd round

In the second round, the Chiefs did not have a pick because they sent that to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for Alex Smith.

3rd round

In the third round, the Chiefs had two choices: tight end Travis Kelce and running back Knile Davis. Kelce comes from Cincinnati and his older brother Jason played for Reid with the Eagles. Reid actually drafted Jason in the sixth round two seasons ago (and coincidentally then-GM Scott Pioli really liked him, too). Davis was a stud at Arkansas in 2010 but missed all of 2011 with an ankle injury and struggled in 2012.

In the fourth round, the Chiefs filled a need, drafting Alabama linebacker Nico Johnson. He will compete with free agent signings Zac Diles and Akeem Jordan for the spot next to Derrick Johnson.

5th round

In the fifth round, the Chiefs picked up Sanders Commings, a defensive back out of Georgia. He's a solid player who, like Dunta Robinson, could play in a mix of corner and free safety, which was considered a need for the Chiefs heading into this draft.

6th round

In the sixth round, the Chiefs got one of the best names in the draft: Eric Kush. He's a center out of D-II California (PA). Also in the sixth, the Chiefs picked Kansas State fullback Braden Wilson, who blocked for Collin Klein.

7th round

In the seventh round, Kansas City opted for an Ivy Leaguer: Princeton DE Mike Catapano. He has a chance to make the roster as an edge rusher for the Chiefs.
