2013 NFL Draft: Kansas City Chiefs draft room will be full

The Kansas City Chiefs are ready for the 2013 NFL Draft. Sort of. Though they don't know who they will pick yet, GM John Dorsey talked on Friday about what the draft room will look like on the first night.

The Kansas City Chiefs draft room will be full when GM John Dorsey and head coach Andy Reid begin the 2013 NFL Draft. KC Chiefs GM John Dorsey spoke to the media last Friday and said they would have a full room on draft night.

So who will be in that room?

The scouts, who have been digging into these players for the last few months. The coaching staff will be in there as well because you need to marry the scouts information with what the coaching staff needs. Dorsey also said there will be folks working the trade phone. Andy Reid, the head coach, will of course be in there, as will the owner, Clark Hunt.

"Everybody has to remember it's a working, serious business working day," Dorsey said. "That's the type of attitude that will be taking place here that day."

One of my favorite videos to come out of the draft every year is when the Chiefs will call the player to tell him he has been selected. Dorsey and Reid will probably talk to him, and congratulate him. Clark Hunt probably will as well. At least that's the way it's been done in the past.
