The Kansas City Chiefs scouts will look anywhere for a player, including Sacramento State, who tweeted this last week:
Kansas City Chiefs scout here campus to workout TE TJ Knowles
— Sac State Football (@SacHornetsFB) April 9, 2013
Impressive. Knowles is an extremely tall tight end -- 6'7, weighing 258 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds and ranks as NFL Draft Scout's 25th tight end in the 2013 NFL Draft, which means he likely won't be drafted. Knowles transferred from South Florida to Sacramento State. He had four total receptions in his final year at South Florida (2010) and his first year at Sacramento State (2011) but notched 38 catches for 381 yards and five touchdowns last season.
His height is what's so intriguing on paper. As they say you can't teach height and if someone who is tall has good hands they could be a good red zone option.
The Chiefs recently worked out another tall player -- basketball player Demetrius Harris. Read about his workout here.
Leaving no stone unturned...
