Surprise! The shockers keep coming as the Kansas City Chiefs have cut Eric Winston, according to Winston himself, who writes this on Twitter:
Just wanted to confirm that I have been released. Even though it was an incredibly tough year on and off the field last year, I wouldn't

Trade the relationships I made in KC and the overall experience I had for anything. It was an honor to be a Chief ... tmi.me/MSlvJ

But the best in the future.... On to the next adventure!

I just don't get it. PFT reports on some of the cap savings. I'm sure there's more to the story and the Chiefs front office deserves a shot at free agency before we freak out. But ... I'm gonna freak out a little anyway.
The Chiefs on Monday decided to franchise tag Branden Albert, which led many of us to believe they had their bookend tackles set up. Apparently not. The release of Winston very well could have implications on the 2013 NFL Draft, where the Chiefs have the No. 1 overall pick.
As a vested vet, Winston immediately becomes a free agent where he will have suitors. Free agency for everyone else opens on March 12.
A few Chiefs have reacted to the move...
Gonna miss ya buddy. Learned so much from you in one year! It was def a pleasure! @ericwinston
