NFL free agency 2013: What have the Chiefs been up to?

With the NFL's new three-day negotiating period, it's possible that the Chiefs new free agents are already in Kansas City.

The first wave of the Kansas City Chiefs free agents (if there are any) may already be in Kansas City. The NFL's new three-day "legal tampering" period allowed for teams and agents to lay out the terms of a deal. If the Chiefs have been talking to agents for free agents then it's very possible that they already have deals lined up.

And it's possible those free agents are already in Kansas City. It's a point brought up today by 810 WHB's Kevin Kietzman, who says he has been told that the Chiefs have been active in this negotiating period. "They are excited," Kietzman said on Tuesday afternoon. "They believe they have deals done." Specifically, Kietzman says it could be as many as five free agents. Of course, none of this can be done until this afternoon -- at the earliest.

The hype machine is revved up. It all gets going at 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) this afternoon. We'll have an open thread for the festivities.
