Texas A&M's Luke Joeckel will work out for the Kansas City Chiefs on March 12 22, Central Michigan's Eric Fisher will meet with KC sometime later this month and now comes word that the Chiefs will also work out Oklahoma's Lane Johnson. In a piece on Fisher's pro day, the Detroit Free-Press writes that the Chiefs will work out Johnson in addition to Joeckel and Fisher. Consider this the hat trick of offensive tackle workouts.
This news should come as little surprise. Of course the Chiefs are going to be working out the top offensive tackles since they have the No. 1 pick. It's a safe position at the top of the draft and most teams with the top pick will work out the top offensive tackles considering the importance of the position.
The workout could be for a number of reasons. Perhaps the Chiefs are considering all three of those guys with the top pick. Or perhaps they're preparing for the scenario where they're able to trade down and hope they can select one of those guys lower in the draft.
Do you have a preference among the top offensive tackles?
