Chiefs sign another new player: Marcus Dixon, former Jets DL

For the second time in as many days the Kansas City Chiefs have signed two free agents who were former New York Jets player. On Friday it was receiver Mardy Gilyard and on Saturday it's defensive lineman Marcus Dixon. The Chiefs haven't confirmed either of them.

Several years ago we would find out the Kansas City Chiefs signed a player by a team press release or the Kansas City Star. Today we find out about signings directly from agents who post them on Twitter just like Marcus Dixon's agent has done here.

Gang Green Nation: Biography of a Jet, Marcus Dixon

Dixon is a 6'4, 295-pound defensive end who was an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. He signed with the Jets in 2010 and played sparingly over three years with four starts and 2.5 sacks.

That he's a former Jet makes the connection easy -- Bob Sutton. The Chiefs new defensive coordinator is a former Jet so he has some insight on these guys. Or it's just easier to go with something you know.

Dixon has quite the story from his past. I'll let you read it all here.

It looks like he was in Kansas City earlier in the week, perhaps for a work out.

We hope to see lots of this from the Chiefs new defensive lineman:
