We know the Kansas City Chiefs are at the 2013 NFL Combine in Indianapolis because we've already heard from Andy Reid and John Dorsey which is probably the most entertaining part of the Combine. Now we're sitting around watching fat guys run 40-yard dashes which, I admit, is kinda funny at first but it does get old quickly. John Dorsey and Co. are in Indy eating it all up though.
This is the first day we'll start to see the prospects actually working out on the field. Here's the schedule of when each position group is working out:
Saturday, Feb. 23: Tight ends, offensive linemen, special teams
Sunday, Feb. 24: Quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers
Monday, Feb. 25: Defensive linemen, linebackers
Tuesday, Feb. 26: Defensive backs
Sunday is a big day, obviously. I can't wait to overreact to how quarterbacks throw to unfamiliar teammates without pads on!
NFL Network will cover it so you can watch it on TV there. The coverage starts at 8:00 a.m. (Arrowhead Time) and lasts all day, until 6:00 p.m. We'll also be pulling out important updates and putting them here on AP, so keep checking for more updates on these young men running around in shorts and no shirts.
Your best bet is tracking this StoryStream at SBNation.com, where they'll be posting all the results.
Here are the list of drills you can expect to see the prospects performing: 40-yard dash | Bench press | Vertical jump | Broad jump | 3-cone drill | Shuttle run
Click the links for explanations of each drill. There are also position-specific drills.
We have four SB Nation folks on the ground in Indy. Follow them: Dan Kadar: @MockingTheDraft | Matthew Fairburn: @MatthewFairburn | Ryan Van Bibber: @JustRVB | Jason Garrison: @JGarrisonSBN
