2013 NFL Draft: Mike Mayock's top 5 QBs, from Geno Smith to Landry Jones

All that talk about the Kansas City Chiefs taking Tyler Wilson somewhere in the first round? Yeah, that seems kinda crazy now that I've seen Mike Mayock's positional rankings. Mayock lists his top five quarterbacks, which starts with Geno Smith.

The good news is that the player we've talked about the most around here -- West Virginia's Geno Smith -- is No. 1 on Mike Mayock's quarterback rankings. Mayock recently discussed Smith and he said he couldn't pound the table for Smith as a first round pick, and found several flaws in his game.

Tyler Wilson is another name that has popped up around. The idea of him as the first overall pick is a stretch but drafting him high isn't. Mayock's rankings do NOT have Wilson listed in the top five.

Chiefs GM: No 'clear-cut guy' at No. 1 | Mayock: 'I don't know who the best QB is'

Here are Mayock's top five quarterbacks:

1. Geno Smith, West Virginia
2. Matt Barkley, USC
3. Mike Glennon, NC State
4. Ryan Nassib, Syracuse
5. Landry Jones, Oklahoma

This class is so crazy. Some people say Landry Jones will be a late round pick and Mayock has him in the top five. Some say Tyler Wilson could be the third quarterback off the board and Mayock doesn't even have him in the top five. Ryan Nassib has been linked to the Buffalo Bills in the top 10 and Mayock has him rated the fourth best quarterback.

The Chiefs have often been linked to Star Lotulelei, defensive tackle out of Utah. BUT ... Mayock has him as the second rated defensive tackle behind Shariff Floyd. I haven't heard a ton of disagreement when folks say Star is the top defensive tackle in the draft so this is interesting.

These rankings confirm what we thought we knew already: that we don't know.
