Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs News 2/15

Good morning! Seem like Dwayne Bowe will be the topic of discussion today. Lots of info and opinions on him in today's Kansas City Chiefs news. Enjoy!

John Rieger-US PRESSWIRE

Best Previous Drafts By The Chiefs' Andy Reid And John Dorsey from KC Star

This is the second in a weekly look at how new Chiefs general manager John Dorsey and coach Andy Reid drafted with their previous teams, Dorsey as director of college scouting for the Green Bay Packers and Reid as head coach with the Philadelphia Eagles. Next week: Worst drafts.

Reid's best draft: 2002

There's little question the best draft in Reid's 14 years in Philadelphia was in 2002, his fourth draft with the Eagles.

Inside Free Agency: Day 5 from The Mothership

Having a 'nose for the ball' is typically associated with the secondary, but Paul Kruger's 'nose for the snap count' is likely second-to-none.

Known for having one of the best jumps off the ball, Kruger reads the count, gains the split-second advantage to blow by the opposing lineman, en route to a quarterback sack.

Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs In Contract Talks from NFL.com

Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access" that the Kansas City Chiefs are actively pursuing a new contract with Bowe, according to sources close to the situation. Bowe's representatives have met with the Chiefs, and Rapoport expects conversations to continue in the coming weeks.

'Shutdown Corner' Offseason TPS Report: Kansas City Chiefs from Yahoo! Sports

Over the next few weeks, "Shutdown Corner" will pay homage to "Office Space" (TPS reports) as we take a quick look back at each team's 2012 season and a look at what lies ahead for the 2013 offseason. We now move to the AFC West and begin with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nick Foles Could Draw Interest From Kansas City Chiefs from NFL.com

The Philadelphia Eagles recommitted themselves to Michael Vick on Monday. Dennis Dixon was reunited with Chip Kelly on Thursday. What does this mean for Nick Foles?

A change of scenery certainly remains possible. Mike Garafolo of USA Today reported Thursday that Andy Reid and theKansas City Chiefs are interested in acquiring Foles if he becomes available.

Report: Eagles Have No Plans To Trade Nick Foles from FanSided

Earlier on Thursday night is was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs were interested in trading for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, but according to the Eagles that's not going to happen. But while the Eagles have shot down reports of trading Foles, that doesn't mean a trade has been completely ruled out. According to CSNPhilly.com, the Eagles will only be trading Foles if they're "blown away" by an offer.

Chiefs' Timing Wrong On Clowney from ESPN

Clowney is not eligible for the draft until next year. I'm sure the Kansas City Chiefs would be all for the league bending the rules this year as Clowney would be the sure No. 1 pick in the draft.

It's another reminder that this is such a bad year for the Chiefs to have the No.1 pick in the draft.

Ron Brace Signs With Washington Redskins from The Worcester Telegram & Gazette

Brace is the second Central Mass. product to sign with an NFL team this offseason. Offensive lineman Ryan Durand, a Leominster native and St. Bernard's graduate, hooked on with the Kansas City Chiefs on Jan. 28.

Overland Park Woman Worried While Husband Was Trapped On Smelly Cruise Ship from KC Star

She knows her husband will have other stories to tell. He squeezed in one more Thursday night: an avid Chiefs fan, he decided to drape one of his Chiefs jerseys over the Triumph's guardrails.

"He hoped it might help the Chiefs a little with some publicity."

Perkin is flying home today. He'll be met with hugs and kisses, not to mention the finest luxuries of running water for a hot shower, and a clean toilet that really flushes.

Report: Chiefs 'Actively Pursuing' Extension With WR Dwayne Bowe from CBS Sports

During his time with KC, Bowe has caught passes from nine different quarterbacks and still managed to produce three 1,000-plus-yard seasons.

If the folks in KC think Bowe can get paid and become a consistent No. 1 wideout, and if the price is right, extending him is a pretty smart move.

Who Is The Top NFL Free-Agent Wide Receiver In 2013? from NFL.com

I struggled with how to evaluate Bowe. He's quietly made strides over the last two seasons in consistency and the "little things" at the receiver position. A great man-press corner still gives Bowe problems, but there's no doubt he's a huge weapon in the red zone. He's mostly worked hard and kept the Kansas City Chiefs happy by staying quiet the last two seasons. But he was also playing for a contract.

Franchise Guys: If Anybody Is Worth A Tag, It's Joe Flacco from CBS Sports

Kansas City: Tackle Branden Albert might end up being a guard long-term, but the Chiefs can't afford to lose any assets on offense. Andy Reid won't stand for it and to tag franchise receiver Dwayne Bowe a second straight year would be cost-prohibitive. My money is on them franchising Albert if they can't sign him.
