Is the start of many Geno Smith interviews we'll be hearing over the next few years?
Time will tell but between now and the end of April Geno Smith is going to be a very popular man in Kansas City. Geno talked with Soren Petro from radio row in New Orleans and of course brought up the Chiefs No. 1 pick.
Geno was asked if it's important for him to be the No. 1 pick.

"Yes it is. It's very important. I understand the Chiefs are in the position where they possibly need a quarterback. They need someone who can help that franchise out. Not to bag on any guys there, it just is what it is. I believe I am that guy. With that position comes a lot of responsibility and a lot of hard work, which I'm willing to put in day in and day out.
"My goal is to be the best at whatever I do. I want to be the best in the league and I want to be a Hall of Famer. I want to work to get there no matter which team picks me. It would be great to be in the Kansas City red."
If the Chiefs draft Geno, I bet the debate over confidence vs. bravado will come up. But I like it.
He said his dad has a couple friends in Kansas City so he knows that there is some interest from Chiefs fans. Earlier in the day Clark Hunt was on with Petro and made a comment that the Chiefs missed Geno in Mobile for the Senior Bowl. Smith said his reasons for missing the Senior were "strategic" and that he's a competitor.
The Chiefs will have plenty of time to get to know him if he's an option for them.
