Chiefs-Redskins final score: KC's special teams scores twice in 45-10 victory

The Kansas City Chiefs ended their three-game losing streak with a 45-10 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday at FedEx Field in Week 14. The Chiefs special teams scored twice -- Dexter McCluster's 74-yard punt return TD and Quintin Demps' 95-yard kick return TD -- as KC moved to 10-3 on the season.

Before the game, fans reported seeing a lot of Chiefs fans in the crowd. And this from the Washington crowd...


Chiefs 1st drive: Field goal (3-0, Chiefs)

Chiefs offense starts hot. Eight yard carry by Jamaal Charles, 9-yard pass to Sean McGrath, 13-yard run by Jamaal, 22-yard pass to Dwayne Bowe.

Bowe dropped a pass over the middle. He got hit pretty good but it was an obvious drop. That hurt the Chiefs. Alex Smith's next pass was incomplete, which brought up fourth down.

SCORE: Ryan Succop kicked a 33-yard field goal.

Redskins 1st drive: Punt

RGIII's 12-yard pass to Pierre Garcon converted a 3rd-and-9.

The Redskins punt it away to KC on their first drive.

Chiefs 2nd drive: Touchdown (10-0, Chiefs)

48-yard punt return by DMC gives the Chiefs the ball at the 13-yard line.

First play: Swing pass to DMC for eight yards.

Chiefs are short on on a 3rd-and-3 but Andy Reid decides to GO FOR IT on fourth down. A hand-off to Jamaal gives the Chiefs a first down on the goal line. The Chiefs are now 2-of-7 going for it on fourth this year.

SCORE: Jamaal punches it in for the touchdown. Chiefs lead, 10-0.

Redskins 2nd drive: Turnover

The Redskins put together a couple of first downs but RGIII threw a bad pass right in Derrick Johnson's passing lane. DJ picked it off and returned it 42 yards. Chiefs get the ball back.

Chiefs 3rd drive: Touchdown (17-0, Chiefs)

Chiefs start at the Redskins 25-yard line after DJ's interception.

SCORE: Alex Smith hits Dwayne Bowe in stride. Bowe dodges the initial tacklers and trots into the end zone for six from 21 yards out.

Redskins 3rd drive: Punt

Tamba Hali picks up the first sack of the day.

The Redskins go 3-and-out.


Chiefs 4th drive: Touchdown (Chiefs lead, 24-0)

DMC's 24-yard punt return gives the Chiefs the ball at the Redskins 41-yard line.

16-yard pass to Bowe keeps the chains moving.

13-yard run by Jamaal. Chiefs keep picking up yards in chunks.

SCORE: Alex finds Jamaal from five yards out for another touchdown. Chiefs lead, 24-0.

Redskins 4th drive: Punt

Redskins starting on their own 6-yard line.

RGIII fumbled the ball while scrambling and Quintin Demps picked it up for a touchdown. But the refs ruled that RGIII was down before he fumbled.

Redskins punt.

Chiefs 5th drive: Touchdown return (31-0, Chiefs)

SCORE: DMC takes it 74 yards to the house on the punt return. Chiefs lead, 31-0.

Redskins 5th drive: Punt

First play: Tamba Hali notches sack No. 2 on the Redskins.

Eric Berry picks up the sack on third down.

Redskins punt.

Chiefs 6th drive: Punt

Chiefs drive down the field and line up for a 47-yard field goal. The snap goes directly to Succop, who then pooch punts it. It was a touchback.

Redskins 6th drive: Touchdown (31-7, Chiefs)

RGIII had a 25-yard and 30-yard pass on this drive, moving Washington down the field.

SCORE: RGIII found Logan Paulsen in the end zone from six yards out for a beautiful catch, keeping his feet in bounds. Chiefs lead, 31-7.

Chiefs 7th drive: Touchdown (38-7, Chiefs)

SCORE: Quintin Demps returns the kick 95 yards for the touchdown. Chiefs lead, 38-7.

Redskins 7th drive: Field goal (38-10, Chiefs)

SCORE: Redskins K Kai Forbath hits a 50-yarder as time expires in the first half.


Redskins 8th drive: Punt

Washington goes 3-and-out again.

Chiefs 8th drive: Punt

Chiefs now go 3-and-out.

Redskins 9th drive: Punt

Despite one 27-yard pass from RGIII, the Redskins punted it away.

Chiefs 9th drive: Missed field goal

Knile Davis had a couple of carries on this drive.

Alex hit D-Bowe for a 10-yard gain on 2nd-and-6. He follows that up with an 11-yard pass to Sean McGrath.

With that run, Jamaal passes the 100-yard mark.

Succop misses a 34-yard field goal.

Redskins 10th drive: Punt

Another punt for Washington.

Chiefs 10th drive: Touchdown (45-10, Chiefs)

Jamaal had a 17-yard run then followed it up with a 33-yard run.


SCORE: Excellent cut back run by Knile Davis for the touchdown from 17 yards out. Chiefs lead, 45-10.

Redskins 11th drive: Punt

Down 45-10, Kirk Cousins comes into the game.

Frank Zombo forced a fumble but the Redskins recovered.

The Redskins punt it away.

Chiefs 11th drive: Turnover

Chase Daniel comes into the game.

Turnover: Chase throws an interception on an under-thrown ball.

Redskins 12th drive: Turnover

Marcus Cooper broke up a pass and then went down with an injury. It looked like he fell awkwardly on Pierre Garcon's knee. Cooper walked off under his own power.

Quintin Demps forces a fumble on Redskins TE Logan Paulsen and Ron Parker, who replaced Cooper after he was injured, recovered the fumble. Brandon Flowers was hit with a personal foul for his hit on the fumble return.

Chiefs 12th drive: Punt

The Chiefs keep it on the ground before punting.

Redskins 13th drive: Punt

The Redskins punt it away.
