Chiefs' Andy Reid gives a shout-out to Mizzou Tigers and Sporting KC

For the first time in a while, the KC Chiefs are arguably not the biggest story in Kansas City right. That honor would go to the Missouri Tigers, who are playing on Saturday for the SEC Championship and a possible shot in the national title game. Meanwhile, Sporting KC is playing Real Salt Lake for the MLS Cup.

Good time to be a Kansas City sports fan, which BIG RED recognized when speaking to the media on Friday.

"I want to give just a quick shout out to Gary Pinkel and those Missouri Tigers with that SEC Championship game," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said in Friday's press conference, via quotes from the Chiefs. "We're pulling for them. Then, Sporting KC, big game coming up, huh? Big game coming up. We're thinking of them."

I love that Missouri fans have something to play for. Such an awesome feeling when you have a shot. I'm also very impressed by everything Sporting KC has done. From top to bottom, that organization has made a great impression on the city. I wish the Chiefs would take a lot of their ideas.

Unfortunately, all this is happening at the same time on the same day. Mizzou plays Auburn at 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time), the same time Sporting KC plays Real Salt Lake. Not only that, Mrs. Arrowhead Pride's KU Jayhawks are playing at 2:15 p.m.

I guess this is a good problem to have. What a sports town...
