Branden Albert, Justin Houston and Anthony Fasano ruled out for Chiefs vs. Redskins

The Kansas City Chiefs will be without three key starters when they play the Washington Redskins on Sunday at FedEx Field.

Starting left tackle Branden Albert and starting outside linebacker Justin Houston have both been ruled out for the KC Chiefs game against the Redskins. [Update below: Anthony Fasano ruled out, too.] Albert hyper-extended his knee last week against the Denver Broncos; Houston subluxed his elbow two weeks ago against the San Diego Chargers.

While neither injury appears to be season-ending, they're both a big deal.

Albert's absence will cause changes along the offensive line. Taking his place on the left side will not be Eric Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick. Fisher will stay on the right side while swing tackle Donald Stephenson will play on the left.

Houston's absence means Frank Zombo once again gets the nod. Zombo replaced Houston when he was out last week. Houston's injury was said to be a multi-week injury, and Sunday's game in Washington will be the second complete game he missed after leaving the Week 12 game against the Chargers with the injury.

Important to note on the injury situation, tight end Anthony Fasano has not yet been ruled out. He suffered a concussion last week and has been going through the NFL's concussion protocol.

If he can't make it, tight end Dominique Jones would likely be brought up from the practice squad. Sean McGrath is the backup tight end.

Also notable on the injury front is that Jon Asamoah and Eric Fisher have been taken off the injury report because they're all better. Andy Reid indicated earlier in the week that Geoff Schwartz would likely start over Asamoah either way.

There are others on the injury report but nothing that will prevent players from playing.

UPDATE: Fasano now ruled out as well.
