Goodbye to Kyle Love and hello (again) to Jerrell Powe. The KC Chiefs on Tuesday swapped out defensive tackles, releasing Love and signing Powe.
Love was signed by the Chiefs on November 19 so he didn't last long. He was inactive last week against the Broncos. Love's notable story in the league was getting cut by the Patriots reportedly because of his diabetes. The Chiefs said when they signed him that his weight was under control. Sometimes these things just don't work out.
Powe was the Chiefs sixth round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, so he's a familiar face. He was with the team for the last two seasons but the Chiefs waived him on cut down weekend prior to the 2013 season.
#ChiefsKingdom - I'm back home again as a @KCChiefs! Can't wait to get back on the line. #99 this time! #blessed pic.twitter.com/hWKumBrWKU

I'm curious to see how the Chiefs depth along the defensive line pans out. Dontari Poe plays a lot of snaps and the Chiefs have seen injuries in recent weeks to Mike DeVito and Tyson Jackson.
One more move: FB Toben Opurum also returned to the practice squad. He was cut recently. I saw his stuff still in his locker in the Chiefs locker room so I'm not all that surprised he's back.
