By this afternoon we will know where the Kansas City Chiefs are going for their first playoff game. We know the 2014 NFL playoff schedule tells us the Wild Card game will be on Saturday, January 4 OR Sunday, January 5. We also know that the Chiefs will be going on the road and facing either the Colts, Bengals or Patriots.
It's those three teams that Chiefs fans need to pay attention to today because the outcome of those games will determine who the Chiefs play. Here's the schedule for those teams today:
Ravens at Bengals Jaguars at Colts
Bills at Patriots
There are eight different scenarios for the Chiefs to pay attention to today. If Indianapolis loses to the Jaguars, they are locked into playing in Indy. But if the Colts, who are a 10.5-point home favorite, lose on Sunday, things open up quite a bit more.
Update 3 p.m. Arrowhead time: Scenarios updated with Bengals and Colts wins. If New England wins, the Chiefs play Indy. If New England loses, the Chiefs play New England.

We have been talking this week about which scenario would be best for the Chiefs. I asked two weeks ago which team Chiefs fans would rather play and the answer was overwhelmingly the Colts. I asked that same question again after the Colts beat up on the Chiefs last weekend and the answer again was the Colts.
The Colts, Bengals and Patriots are all playing at home and they're all at least a touchdown favorite. So if you go by the odds, the likely scenario is that the Chiefs will play Indianapolis.
While we're here, here's the 2014 NFL playoff schedule:
Wild Card round: January 4-5
Divisional round: January 11-12
AFC Championship game: January 19
Super Bowl: February 2
