Lots of national opinions will be formed about the Chiefs based on last night's game against the Broncos because the whole freakin' country was watching it.
More people watched Chiefs-Broncos than the last BCS National Championship game or Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Here are some of the TV ratings records from last night, via NBC Sports PR:
- 6th-highest Sunday NFL overnight in NBC primetime history
- 2nd this season behind Peyton's return to Indy
- Highest local primetime rating in 27 Years for Broncos in Denver;
- Chiefs’ rating in Kansas City is the best in a decade
Top markets:
1. Denver, 52.0/75 – NBC SNF local-market record
2. Kansas City, 51.5/72 – NBC SNF local-market record
A rating (the first number) is what percentage of all TVs in the market are tuned into the game. A share (the second number) is what percentage of TVs in use are tuned into the game.
NBC says Sunday Night Football drew a 52.0 rating in Denver and 51.5 rating in KC - both @SNFonNBC local-market ratings records.
