As with other free agent workouts, the Kansas City Chiefs are likely just keeping tabs on others in case of injury. The list of players they worked out this week:
Chiefs tried out quarterbacks Matt Blanchard and Matt Brown, receiver Saalim Hakim, tackle Emmett Cleary and linebacker Mike Taylor
— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) October 9, 2013
Blanchard went to a D-III school in Wisconsin. We discussed him a little bit more here.
Brown went to Illinois State, having previously spent time with the Packers (John Dorsey connection). He threw for over 10,000 yards in college.
Also from Wisconsin (the big school) is Taylor, a linebacker, who had two recent surgeries which contributed to him going undrafted last April.
The little brother of Az-Zahir Hakim, WR Saalim Hakim joined the Saints last year as an undrafted free agent. It appears his biggest asset is his speed, he's a fast guy.
Cleary, an offensive tackle, hails from Boston College and received a nice check to sign with the Colts as an undrafted free agent earlier this year.
