Winning on the road is hard. Winning on the road by two scores (twice in three weeks) is even harder. So the Chiefs deserve some kudos for their 26-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. As usual, there was some good and some bad.
The good
- Chiefs defense shines again
- Sean McGrath and Marcus Cooper keep it up
- Alex Smith goes deep -- twice -- to Donnie Avery
- The goal line stand was awesome
The bad
- The offense, in general, had problems throughout the day
- The defense slipped for a short but costly few minutes in the second half
- The Chiefs had nine penalties
As for the grade, I'm leaning towards a B+. The struggles at times offensively are the biggest reason they don't get an A. Defensively though they put out a terrific effort, once again keeping the Chiefs in the game. They are able to mask flaws with this team. Special teams gets an A++ for scoring a touchdown. Ryan Succop also hit four field goals.
