Kansas City Chiefs' Ryan Succop named AFC special teams player of the week

Once again, a Kansas City Chiefs player has been named player of the week.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL announced on Wednesday that KC Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop has been named the AFC special teams player of the week. Succop's award comes after he connected on 3-of-4 field goals in the Chiefs 23-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.

Those field goals were from a distance of:

  • 42 yards
  • 35 yards
  • 40 yards
He joins Justin Houston, Tamba Hali and Dexter McCluster as those Chiefs who have been awarded with player of the week awards.

The Chiefs have been winning close games with good defense and solid special teams, so Succop's contributions will be important moving down the stretch.
