The Kansas City Chiefs made a couple of roster moves this afternoon, moving TE Travis Kelce to injured reserve and filling that open roster spot by promoting S Bradley McDougald from the practice squad.
Joel speculated a few days ago that Kelce's nagging knee injury could end his season and now it has. Kelce had knee surgery earlier this week:
Kelce's knee injury first popped up in training camp. He had an MRI and they determined it was a bone bruise in his knee. But whenever Kelce tried to make a come back to the field, he kept having setbacks. More MRIs were done and they continued to show the bone bruise. He was fine running when attempting to rehab, but he couldn't get in and out of his stance when he put weight on his knee.
The Chiefs' rookie season ends without him taking an offensive snap.
