The Kansas City Chiefs GM search rolls on but we may have some new information this morning. Reports stated that Packers director of football operations John Dorsey was the leading candidate for the job, the "clear-cut favorite", according to one report. We also knew that Tom Heckert, the Browns GM fired this week, and Reid's former personnel man in Philadelphia, was also considered a candidate.
Now for the new name: Tom Gamble, the 49ers director of player personnel. (Here is his bio.)

Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star reports that "two of the leading candidates" for the Chiefs GM job will be in the Packers-49ers game -- that would be Dorsey and Gamble, apparently.
Until today everyone and their mother has believed the Chiefs will tab John Dorsey as their next GM. Maybe there's more searching to be done.
So the full list of rumored Chiefs GM candidates as we know it:
- John Dorsey: Believed to be the favorite, according to everyone
- Tom Gamble: A candidate, according to the KC Star
- Ray Farmer: Interviewed for the Chiefs GM job, according to a report
- Tom Heckert: Speculation says he's a candidate
Clark Hunt said at Andy Reid's introduction press conference that the Chiefs have started the GM interview process, which hints to me that there are multiple candidates (i.e. more than just Dorsey). Reid will sit in on the interviews but Hunt will make the final decision.
Hunt and Reid also both said on Monday that the new GM would have final say control over personnel.
