The Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid met past midnight on Thursday and into Friday morning trying to hammer out a deal, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philly. Reid initially interviewed with the Chiefs on Wednesday, an interview that went over nine hours, and then spent Thursday with the contingent of Chiefs trying to get a deal done.
More: Rounding up all the Andy Reid rumors
A deal isn't done -- yet. But it's looking like it's headed that way. Several reports have said that the two sides have moved past the major issues.
One rather large potential issue that could remain may not even involve Reid directly -- the GM.
It's been said that Packers executive John Dorsey is a candidate, and Tom Heckert's name pops up, too. If Reid wants to bring a GM along, they'll have to do something about the status of GM Scott Pioli.
It'd be awkward if the Chiefs hired Dorsey and he and Pioli both have final say over the roster. Coin flips?
So, we're back to what we were doing last night ... patiently waiting.
