Senior Bowl 2013: Chiefs scouts are all on their own

New, comments

Among the many great things I've got to see and experience this week in Mobile one of the coolest had nothing to do with the players on the field.

Each day after practice the entire Kansas City Chiefs personnel department would meet as a group up in the stands.

After Monday's practice I noticed them all meeting and thought maybe it was something they'd just do on the first day. I noticed John Dorsey and Andy Reid at first and it was a pretty cool sight to see them all up their together.

Then they did the same thing on Tuesday and Wednesday and they were the only team to meet like this at the stadium. Obviously Dorsey and Reid haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time with the scouts and personnel guys yet because they haven't been on the job too long.

There's been so much excitement surrounding those two hirings that it was cool to see one of the 'meeting of the minds' from a distance like that ... and even get a pretty cool picture of it.

The draft is a huge part in turning the organization around with new talent, more talent, and this is one of the first meetings in working and preparing to do that.
