Senior Bowl rosters 2013: Highlights of the weigh-ins

New, comments

Checking in from Mobile, Alabama, site of the 2013 Senior Bowl. I saw the weigh-ins this morning -- a bunch of guys in their underwear getting weighed while hundreds of media watches is strange. Here are a few notes....

USA TODAY Sports

SMU DL Margus Hunt is every bit of 6'8 and at 277 lbs he could add even more weight. He looks to be a 5-tech DE that could slide inside on passing downs.

If ranking the quarterbacks strictly on physique (doesn't mean a whole lot) then EJ Manuel and Ryan Nassib would be your winners. Mike Glennon looks like a skinnier version of that photo of Tom Brady back in the day at the combine.

Kansas State LB Arthur Brown was scratched yesterday due to some injury and he is no longer here in Mobile.

Florida International Safety Jonathan Cyprien would be your overall winner today at the weigh-in. He measured 6'0 209 lbs and doesn't look like he's missed many workouts.

There were quite a few happy people that Alabama's DJ Fluker and Syracuse's Justin Pugh were allowed to join the Senior Bowl despite just being juniors. They have both graduated already and were given special permission by the NFL and NFLPA to be here this week. There was an extended explanation from Executive Director Phil Savage for why they're allowed to be here so it must be a point of contention for some.

Kansas State wide receiver Chris Harper impressed with his 6'0 228 lbs frame.

I'm headed to the North teams' practice today at 2:30 while Jinx Allessio (here with draftcountdown.com but a Chiefs guy) will be over at the South teams' practice at 1:30. Expect pictures and tweets which you can check out on the open thread where the feed has been embedded.
