Chiefs sign another free agent: former Packers, Jets d-lineman Daniel Muir

Chiefs GM John Dorsey signed his first free agent on Thursday. By Friday he made it free agent No. 2, inking Daniel Muir, a former Packers defensive lineman, to a reserve/futures contract.

We have our second consecutive day with a KC Chiefs transaction. The new guys is Daniel Muir, a defensive lineman, according to Adam Caplan.

Muir has a few connections to the Chiefs new coaching staff and front office.

He was cut by the New York Jets midseason, which means he knows Bob Sutton, the Chiefs new defensive coordinator.

Before that, he was with the Green Bay Packers, which is John Dorsey's (former) territory. Muir came into the league in 2007 as an undrafted free agent with the Packers.

He was with the Colts the longest, almost three seasons and starting 24 games in a two-year stretch.
