KC Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was on NBC Sports Network talking about Chip Kelly's arrival in Philly, and his fresh start in Kansas City. Any time you talk to the head coach (or GM!) of the Chiefs, you have to ask about the quarterbacks.
When asked on Thursday night about what he'll do at quarterback in 2013, Reid said:
"I'm searching them out right now. I'm looking, I'm going back and looking at the tapes one more time. I had a chance to look at every game before I took the job. I'm going back and slowing it down just a bit and looking at them again.
"I've had a chance to meet with Matt [Cassel] and [Ricky] Stanzi. I've met with both those kids. I haven't with Brady [Quinn] but that day will come here I'm sure. I want to make sure I evaluate what we have at hand right here. Before you go anywhere else, make sure you know what you got at home you understand and have a good feel for. So that's where we're going."
Quinn is a free agent so if they don't plan to keep him then I wonder if that meeting will come.
Later today we'll find out...
Is there a scenario Matt Cassel can be the #Chiefs quarterback next season? I'll ask General Manager John Dorsey one hour from now at 10:25.
