Chiefs Work Out CB Chris Carr, Don't Sign Him

The Kansas City Chiefs worked out free agent CB Chris Carr this week, according to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com. This is the second time Carr has visited KC this year, with the other one coming back in March.

So what does this workout mean? I can see it a couple of ways...

That they worked him out suggests there is (or was) at least some concern over the availability of Brandon Flowers and, to a lesser extent, Jalil Brown in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

But they didn't sign him so I'm taking that as a possible hint that Flowers and/or Brown will be ready in Week 1. Flowers' was limited in Wednesday's practice and I would guess he's limited throughout the week. I would also guess that he's active for Sunday's game, hoping he can be effective.

We'll learn more throughout the practice week but not signing another cornerback might be a meaningful hint for Week 1.
