The "definitive biography" of the late KC Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt will go on sale on Sept. 30 through the Chiefs website and to the general public on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The author is Michael MacCambridge who says via this Chiefs release:
"The life of Lamar Hunt was, by its very nature, difficult to summarize," said MacCambridge. "He inhabited several different worlds at the same time, yet remained inimitably his own person. What I found, over the course of my research, is that sports wasn't merely Lamar's pastime or profession, but to a great extent, the prism through which he viewed the larger world. What was most clear through all this was that Lamar was animated not by some abstract impulse for empire-building or a profit margin, but by the same things that true sports fans value-a love of the games themselves."
The title of the book: Lamar Hunt: A life in sports
Clark Hunt said:
"We are very excited about the release of Lamar Hunt: A Life in Sports, and we hope that fans of all sports will enjoy reading about the life and legacy of my father in this outstanding work by Michael MacCambridge. Michael is well-respected as both an author and a sports historian, and with exhaustive research, unprecedented access and poignant eloquence, he has crafted the definitive biography of my father's life."
I'm gonna have to get myself a copy of this.
