Believe it or not, most fan bases have a player who they think never gets holding calls against them. I know Cowboys fans are like that with DeMarcus Ware, the same way KC Chiefs fans are with Tamba Hail.
Now that the replacement ref era has ended, we can get back to what we know -- and that's the real refs missing holding calls on Tamba.
"I can't pick and choose [what they call]," Hali said on Thursday, via comments sent out by the Chiefs. "I just hope they call more holding than usual. But at the end of the day, we've got to go out there and we've got to make plays whether they hold us or don't hold us, there's going to be calls and there's not going to be calls. I'm glad they're back though. These guys know us."
Eric Winston had some great thoughts on the return of the real refs, which you can read here. He talked about the pace of the game, and the replacements, despite their mistakes, trying as hard as they could.
Derrick Johnson joined the chorus of players who were ready to welcome the real refs back.
"It's great," DJ said. "The refs are in it too. This is a team atmosphere, this is an organization, this is the NFL, this is the shield. They're part of it too so we're glad to have them back."
