You read that headline right.
The Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 are playing for a slice of first place. The Chiefs host the San Diego Chargers in Week 4 and if KC can win that game they will have a share of first place.
I checked and re-checked the standings like eight times this morning because I was thinking, "Surely this has to be wrong after all the complaining we've done about this team."
But no. If the Chiefs beat the Chargers, they will have a share of first place with San Diego and either the Oakland Raiders or Denver Broncos, who play each other this weekend.
The first month of the season and we already have a critical AFC West weekend. I love it.
The Chiefs opening line showed them as three point 'dogs against the Chargers, according to SB Nation's latest odds. Since then, however, the line has moved to 1 and 1.5 in other places.
What crazy thing will happen this game to allow the Chiefs to win?
Here are the AFC West standings as they look right now:
1. San Diego Chargers (2-1)
2. Kansas City Chiefs (1-2)
3. Denver Broncos (1-2)
4. Oakland Raiders (1-2)
