So why did Jamaal Charles only play in 28 percent of the KC Chiefs offensive snaps in the loss to the Buffalo Bills?
We have our answer:
Crennel says Charles had sore knee yesterday but would play vs Saints

Whew. If Romeo Crennel is already saying that Charles will be available next week then he should be good. Charles tore his ACL last year and had surgery on his knee.
The Chiefs offense without Charles in there yesterday looked an awful lot like the offense that was on display during his absence in the 2011 season. That's not something we want to see again.
It should also be a reminder to us that Charles, Eric Berry and Tony Moeaki are indeed coming off knee surgeries. While the Chiefs are playing them that doesn't necessarily mean they're 100 percent healthy. KC took it easy on them at times in training camp and they didn't participate in offseason workouts at all.
It's still early in the season so we could see Charles and the rest of the ACL crew taking it easy again before the year is over.
