Brandon Flowers' Week 2 Status Remains Up In The Air

Matt Ryan's best game of his career made it obvious that the Kansas City Chiefs missed Brandon Flowers on Sunday. Flowers has been out since July 31 with a heel injury, an injury that was initially day-to-day that has morphed into a six-week hang-up.

KC Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel was asked about Flowers' status next week and he wouldn't commit to him being ready in Week 2.

"Well he's been doing more at practice, so we will find out next week," Crennel said after the game. "We'll see what he can do in practice, then he'll play. If he can't practice, then he won't play."

Many pregame predictions figured Flowers would at least be active and give it a shot, but he didin't even suit up. That Flowers was seemingly close to playing makes you think he has a good shot at being active in Week 2.

We'll monitor his practices this week -- he was limited all last week -- and see where he stands entering Week 2 at Buffalo.
