Coach Romeo Crennel addressed injuries on Saturday morning and arguably the biggest concern remains cornerback Brandon Flowers, who suffered a bruised foot during Tuesday’s night practice.
So who can fans making the trip to Missouri Western State University expect to see on the practice field for Family Fun Day?
Flowers won’t be one of them.
Crennel said Flowers (foot) will not go in the afternoon session. In a nutshell, this makes perfect sense given the Chiefs are off on Sunday. Flowers gets an extra day of rest before the team shifts to Week One preseason preparations.
Crennel was waiting to hear on LB Brandon Siler’s (ankle) status before deciding if Siler will participate in the afternoon practice. Siler’s ankle has been sore since July 29.
Crennel said fullback Shane Bannon (abdominal), wide receiver Junior Hemingway (groin) and defensive lineman Ethan Johnson, who took a shot to the chin during Friday morning’s practice, will not go during the afternoon practice.
Crennel said defensive back Jacques Reeves reported to St. Joseph, Mo., on Friday after missing the first week of camp. Reeves had been excused to tend to family matters and is now going through the acclimation period.
Crennel said defensive back Donald Washington, who was excused on Friday to deal with a family issue, was back today.
