Bumped this for those that want to chat about it. We'll have much more on Willie Roaf and the Hall of Fame tomorrow. -Chris
The NFL Hall of Fame weekend is in full swing in Canton, Ohio and that means the Kansas City Chiefs gain another player of note to permanently resides among the best to ever play the game of football. Chiefs fans will no doubt remember the dominant offensive lines of a decade ago which included Will Shields, Casey Wiegman, Willie Roaf and Brian Waters. Now the first member of that line will be immortalized.
While the Hall of Fame weekend has already started with the annual Gold Jacket Dinner, Saturday morning parade and so on, the official ceremonies are tonight starting at 6pm CT. Roaf will join five others as the Class of 2012: Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy and Curtis Martin.
While other players will turn to former coaches, Roaf's presenter will be his own father, Clifton Roaf.
"In my entire college and pro career, my dad missed one home game and that’s because my brother had a game the same day," said Roaf. "He drove from our home in Arkansas to New Orleans and Kansas City for every home game. It has to be him."
The inclusion of the six players mentioned above now brings the total number of Hall of Fame members to 273.
