When the Kansas City Chiefs line up on Thursday night, will they be facing the best quarterback in the NFL? Anytime you mention the top quarterbacks in the league, you're going to mention Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers.
I asked Kevin over at Acme Packing Company for his homer answer to the question of whether Rodgers is indeed the best.
I think so, but I have to recognize my own biases. He's more risk-averse and less likely to throw a bad interception than Drew Brees, he's much more athletic and able to pick up first downs with his feet than Tom Brady, and he's more accurate than Matthew Stafford. Brady and Stafford might throw better deep balls than Rodgers, but I think he's a better all-around quarterback than both of them.
Having said all of that, I think there is minimal separation between Rodgers and Brady right now. I think they're a clear 1-2 in some order, with the other Pro Bowl-level guys forming a second tier of QBs below them.
I'd have to agree with him. Rodgers is my MVP pick this year. Boring pick, yes. But a good pick as well.
What say you, AP? Is Rodgers the best in the league?
