We may have some potential progress with Brandon Flowers and his injured heel. Today marks four weeks since Flowers went down with an injury at the Kansas City Chiefs training camp night practice.
As noted yesterday, Flowers is out of the walking boot. The KC Star's Adam Teicher brings more good news: Flowers did some slow jogging and "cutting and back pedaling" at practice today, which seems to be a step in the right direction. Teicher is fielding Flowers questions on Twitter if you wanna check it out.
Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel indicated this week that Flowers isn't expected to play on Thursday night in the preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers. That would mean Flowers will miss all the preseason games.
Flowers needs to participate in a practice before the Chiefs can even start thinking about him playing. KC will play on Thursday and get back to work this weekend. They'll have all of next week to practice and prepare for Atlanta before Sunday's game.
Will that be enough time for Flowers to A.) heal and B.) get in at least some practice before the game? We're all just guessing at this point...
