Finally we are here. The Kansas City Chiefs third preseason game. We've been waiting a looong seven days for this game. The Chiefs are returning to Arrowhead for the first time since August 10 when they looked like future AFC West champs against the Arizona Cardinals. A Week 2 road trip to St. Louis humbled that talk.
Now here we sit awaiting the start of Week 3.
The Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks kick things off at 7:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) this evening. If you're trying to go to the game, tickets are dirt cheap in the AP ticket center. So cheap that I can't imagine we'll be seeing a very big crowd tonight. It is a fake game for the price of a real game -- a/k/a preseason -- so I can't blame you...
We'll have a what to watch for post later today but in the big picture I just want the Chiefs to play and look more like they did in preseason game one. Matt Cassel ran the offensive efficiently. The defense communicated well. Everyone seemed to be on the same page. They looked like they knew they what they were doing which translated into real confidence.
Oh, and they started really fast. That's one of the major keys to the Chiefs this year -- starting fast. It is with every team.
Let's see 14 first quarter points -- is that asking too much?
