The No. 2 quarterback debate will continue on in Kansas City, at least for a couple more days.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said on Tuesday that there is no decision yet on who will be the second quarterback on the field behind Matt Cassel on Friday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
"I told you that they both have been close and we want to see what the competition was," Crennel said of the competition between Brady Quinn and Ricky Stanzi. "The circumstances for both of them have been just a little bit different in the games with who they had been with and things like that, so I'm not ready to say one or the other right now.
"After this last game, I said I'd go through this week and then see what it looked like, so we'll be through this week here pretty soon and we'll be at the game and then we'll know."
Most people believe Quinn is leading the race and will ultimately be named the backup quarterback. If I were a betting man, I'd say that's the case. I think Quinn will be the first off the behind Cassel on Friday and soon named the No. 2 backup quarterback after that.
Crennel does not have a press conference scheduled for Thursday so we may not find out the No. 2 until sometime on Friday.
