Chiefs' Tamba Hali Apologizes After Suspension

Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali has released a statement to the media at Arrowhead on his suspension apologizing to his teammates, the organization and the fans.

"I apologize to my teammates, the Hunt family, the Kansas City Chiefs organization and most importantly, our fans. I accept the discipline from the league and will return week 2 of the NFL season with a commitment to erase this mistake with my play on the field and my conduct off of it."

An NFL spokesman tells the KC Star's Kent Babb that this is a "unique" suspension and it "isn't defined specifically" in the substance abuse policy. (Which explains why I didn't understand anything I just read in the CBA.)

So he's suspended. There's just not any clarity as to why exactly.
